Due to recent storms a large tree on our clients property was damaged which left two large branches over-hanging a neighbouring property. While the tree had not fallen, there was significant danger of the branches falling and causing damage. Our Client lodged an urgent claim in an attempt to limit any damage to the neighbouring property.

Despite the insurance policy detailing that cover is for fallen trees, Candy Woods from our Claims team worked with the insurer to explain our client’s situation and achieve a preventative outcome. Candy and the Insurer reached a settlement within two days to have the damaged branches removed, preventing damage to the neighbouring property.

Jennifer Magee, part of our National Claims Team from our Melbourne office recently helped clients Bernadette and Alex find suitable temporary accommodation after a tree fell on their home.

While working quickly with Johns Lyng Group to ensure any further damage was limited, Jennifer was also in regular communications with the insurer to achieve a prompt and smooth outcome for our clients.

George Jackson – Delivering on our Promise

George’s business sustained damage from the release of water from another tenant above his shop – causing approx $25,000 in damage. At the time, George had all of his stock packed up for the move to a new premises.

George was under significant financial pressure due to COVID-19 trade restrictions. As he had already paid rent and bond for his new premises, George was struggling to support his family without an income.

Thankfully, Candy Woods from our National Claims team worked tirelessly to reach an urgent agreement with the Insurer. George received a progress payment to ease his immediate financial pressures.
